I am sitting at the airport waiting to leave Uganda again after just 21 days. And I am gutted. But grateful.
Grateful because I will be back again. Grateful because the team that I have here in Uganda will keep things going: children educated, patients treated, healthy babies safely delivered, the vulnerable kept safe……until I return. Grateful because I have been reminded again how much God has achieved through us in the last five and a half years. And grateful because I KNOW that this is where God wants me to be and what God wants me to do.
I can’t be here full-time as I have been for a while because I need to earn the money to make this sustainable and that has to happen in Europe. But within three years I will be back full time and this is where I will live the remainder of my life. Watching children given hope and opportunity. Seeing J1010 do small acts of great kindness. Rejoicing as I see Michelle achieve more than any of us ever thought possible. And being a grateful onlooker as sponsored children like Stidia and Sonia, who met their sponsor Stephanie for the first time whilst I was here, glow with joy as they feel important, valued and loved for the first time.
This is where real life is for me. The absolute simplicity of trying to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with the Lord my God in Uganda.

Knowing that you can trust the staff to take care of the children and do their jobs in your absence while you are away working is a blessing.
Good luck in your job and I wish you a safe journey.
Glory be to God.
