God’s love, provision, generosity and construction of the ‘Hospital in the Hills’ goes on. And on and on.

The floors are nearly finished, the windows are all in and the ceilings are being finished as I speak. The ten feet deep septic tank is already complete…..which means that the plumber can fit the shower, toilets and wash basins. And all this has been done by a team of locals, a small team of Christians who believe that healthcare is a basic human right and God’s will for His children; and a God who has provided ceaselessly – in terms of money, skills and direction.

I would estimate that the first baby will be safely born here within 3 months. That by June this will be yet another example of God’s crazy economy – one of the best maternity and ward facilities in the area…..built at the top of a mountain to serve the desperately poor who had nothing three years ago and who now have a nursery school; water tanks that provide 108,000 litres of clean water; a medical centre that offers diagnosis, treatment and drugs; accommodation for eight medical staff; and who now (nearly) have a hospital as well.

Why? Because the God who loved us enough to die for us wants us not just to have salvation when we eventually die but also to have life, and life in all its fullness, while we are here. And in this small, remote Ugandan village His will has been done – on earth as it is in heaven. Thank you Lord Jesus.
